AXL Cycle Studio

Safety Protocol

We have a unique opportunity as a brand new studio opening in the midst of the COVID pandemic to adopt the highest safety standards as part of our operating plan for the studio- not just for now, but for good. Keeping our riders, our instructors, and our staff safe is, and will always be, our utmost priority. The plan outlined below is informed by the most stringent CDC-recommended standards and will be updated regularly per local, state, and federal government regulations to make sure we are doing all we can for the safety of our community.

Deep Cleaning Process

Before and after every check-in, staff will practice routine cleaning of the studio and all frequently-touched surfaces (doorknobs, light switches, tables, handles, desks, toilets, faucets, sinks, and electronics) with EPA-registered disinfectants. Special attention will be paid to bikes and weights after every class, whether or not they were used during the session. Additionally, the studio will be cleaned top to bottom regularly by professionals.

Bikes will be disinfected after every session- regardless of use.

Weights will be disinfected after every session- regardless of use.

Sneeze shields and plexi-glass barriers will be installed at every bike and on stage to prohibit particle transfer when breathing.

The studio will be outfitted with a military/medical grade in-duct active air purifier that kills 99% of viruses, sneeze germs, bacteria, and mold. It is capable of conducting 8-10 air changes per hour- providing clean, purified breathing air multiple times per class.

Sanitizing wipes will be provided to all incoming riders to wipe down their bikes before use if they’d prefer.

Shoes will be thoroughly disinfected after each use and won’t be re-rented until completely cleaned and dried. We will make note of returning members and their shoe preferences so as to have disinfected shoes in the rider cubbies prior to arrival, if needed.

Staff will be required to wear gloves and strongly encouraged to wear masks all shift long and refresh them as often as necessary. It will be mandatory to refresh gloves after each cleaning session.

PRE-RIDE PRECAUTIONS

Staff and Instructors will be required to submit to a temperature check before every shift. If mandated by local government regulations, we will check the temperature of every incoming rider as well.

Sanitizing stations will be placed throughout the studio and riders will be urged to use them as often as they’d like.

Riders will be encouraged to show up no earlier than 10 minutes before class and will be asked to keep masks on at all times.

Riders will be assigned cubbies that correlate with the reserved bike number and will be asked to only use their assigned spaces.

Amenities that encourage hand-to-hand contact will be removed from the studio (blow dryers, hair sprays, deodorants, face-wipes, etc).

Hand sanitizers will be placed throughout the studio for use by riders.

Sanitizing wipes will be available for any rider who would like to wipe their bike/equipment down prior to use.

We will limit staff interaction with the riders, unless absolutely necessary. If riders need help with bike setup, the instructor will demonstrate on the podium bike.

We will be strictly enforcing our cancellation policy to allow as many riders as possible to have the ability to book a bike.

Prior to attending their first ride at the studio, riders will be emailed the Studio Liability Waiver which must be completed and sent back in order to take the class.

CHECK-IN

Hands-free check in will be enforced at all times. Riders will have the ability to check themselves in using the AXL CYCLE STUDIO app. This will help avoid crowding at the front desk. If unable to check in via the app, riders will let the front desk know they have arrived and will be checked in manually.

Floor markers will be placed in the lobby and locker areas, indicating a safe distance. Riders are encouraged to not congregate in high traffic areas and wait outside the studio if necessary before their class. Our staff will help direct riders in and out of the studio while maintaining social distancing guidelines.

Cubbies will be partially blocked off  in order to enforce distancing in the locker area. This will also ensure that the same cubby isn’t used twice in a row. All cubbies will be disinfected after each class. We encourage riders to only bring essential items. Pack lightly!

We strongly urge riders to bring their own water or purchase sealed bottles at the front desk. The water fountain will be removed from the lobby to eliminate high-touch transmission risk.

RIDE PROTOCOL

Riders will enter the spin room through the door in the front lobby and exit through the door that leads to the locker room.

Sanitizing wipes will be placed throughout the studio for use by riders before and after each ride.

Bikes will be placed 6 feet apart in the spin room. Please use only the bike you were assigned to ensure safety.

Classes will be drastically smaller to allow for ample distance between bikes and riders.

If you need help with bike setup, please ask the instructor to demonstrate on the podium bike for all to see.

Once class has started, we will not be allowing late arrivals into the spin room.

AFTER YOUR RIDE

Please follow social distancing guidelines and maintain an appropriate distance in the locker room.

Use the wipes and sanitizers made available to you as often as you need.

Changing rooms will still be available for use but common amenities will be removed to eliminate potential transmission.

BE RESPONSIBLE

Our guidelines and measures are only effective if followed by everyone. We are truly all in this together, and so we ask for your support in implementing these measures.

Maintain social distancing measures in closed, shared spaces. Masks must be worn when not at your bike.

If you have a cough, fever, or any COVID-19 symptoms, please do not come to the studio until you are symptom and fever-free for 14 days.

If you have tested positive for COVID-19, or have come in contact with someone who has, please do not come to the studio for 14 days, or until you test negative.

If you are feeling unwell, please stay home and stay safe. We will happily add your class back to your account!
